Marge Shawl
£300.00
Shawl, handwoven.
23×82 inches
Most of the wool comes from The Sheep Sanctuary near Whitby. It has been hand-woven on a rigid heddle loom by me.
The edge is trimmed with wool from a sheep named Marge who lives at The Same Star Sheep Sanctuary.
who lives at The Same Star Sheep Sanctuary. This is what they say about her:
“Marge came to me four years ago when her owners had to give her up due to ill health. Marge was a supposed barren ewe, yet she brought into this world my dearest Mabel. Many of you will know of Mabel’s tragic story [she was murdered]. Marge is the best mama, a real mother to all. She mothers the whole flock and is fondly known as Mama Marge, and The Mothership

And as you will have seen recently, fate working at the little hooves of my star child, Mabel, brought Ohana (formally NoName), to us. Who we then found out, was Marge’s mum, making her Mabel’s grandmother! Bringing the mother of our perfect Mama Marge to the sanctuary.”
The edging wool has been needle-felted onto the main piece so, it will shed a little.
I would advice just spot washing this if necessary.
The wool is the natural colour of the sheep.
